I bought a fake franchise!

I bought one these "franchises" thinking I would be my own boss but once I got in I found out that the operations people acted like managers and told you to do things as if you worked for them. The fees are so high that if you were working this yourself with no employees it would work out to be below minimum wage. I also had the experience of having accounts ripped from me for very little reason that could have been fixed with standard customer care. I suspect that the real profits for this company come from selling and reselling accounts to new franchisees who drop thousands of dollars in to them to get the initial business.

Didn't you have a lawyer look everything over first? That would be the first thing I'd do.

Maybe you can take your contract to an attorney now to see if there is a way to get out of it.

The fine print always comes back to *** you in the butt. Maybe use this as a learning experience.
